James T. Phillips
is the Treasurer of Middlesex County, The County Treasurer, by law,
is the custodian of all county funds. He disburses funds upon order
of the Board of Chosen Freeholders.
Surplus funds are
invested systematically by the Treasurer to earn additional income for
the county. In the year 1999, the county earned in excess of 2.3 million
dollars from these investments.
The Treasurer is
responsible for meeting the county's long and short term capital fund
requirements.
The investment community's
confidence in the excellent financial operation and management practices
of Middlesex County is best expressed by the county's AAA Bond Rating.
In addition to
handling in excess of 250 million dollars in various revenue sources,
the Treasurer's Office is the distribution center for Employees Payroll
checks and checks due vendors doing business with the county.
Payments to vendors
will be made the day following the Freeholder
Public Meeting.
