The Rape Crisis Intervention Center (RCIC) of Middlesex County is a comprehensive program which offers quality health and supportive care free of cost to victims of sexual violence and their significant others, as well as information and referral to the community at large.
Located in Edison, the RCIC has been operational for over 20 years. The RCIC provides the following services:

  • Crisis intervention, information and referral via a 24 hour Hotline
  • 24 hour medical, police and court accompaniment
  • 24 hour access to a private examination room for forensic evidence collection by a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner
  • Individual counseling (available to victims and significant others)
  • Group counseling
  • Advocacy with the legal system and community agencies
  • Community presentations on sexual violence awareness and prevention
  • Information and referrals
  • Volunteer Program

We are always recruiting individuals over the age of 18 who would like to assist survivors of sexual violence. No experience is necessary to take advantage of this opportunity. We provide a free 50+ hour Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate training that prepares volunteer advocates to answer the 24-hotline and accompany survivors to forensic examinations, the police station, and court.  Bilingual individuals are encouraged to apply!  Please contact us at rapecrisis@co.middlesex.nj.us or 732-321-1189 for more information or to schedule an interview.
