Middle school teacher arrested
Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and East
Brunswick Police Director Barry Roberson today announced the arrest of a teacher
on charges of sexually assaulting a student at the
Yinfu Sun, (DOB 9/29/52) of South
First Avenue in Highland Park, was arrested at his home on the evening of March
31, 2009, and was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a
child.
An investigation by Detective Sean Goggins
of the East Brunswick Police Department, and Investigator Raj Chopra of the
Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that Sun had improper contact
with the student at the school on three occasions in March 2009. Children between
the ages of 11 and 13 attend sixth and seventh grades at the school on
The investigation began after the victim’s relatives
learned of the assaults and contacted police.
Sun has been suspended from his teaching job, with
