Man charged with fatally beating student in New Brunswick
County Acting Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Anthony A. Caputo, director of the
New Brunswick Police Department, announced that a
murder charge was served upon Timothy Puskas, 38, of
Puskas had been arrested and charged in Milltown on March 21, 2014 on the separate case and has been in custody since then.

Acting Prosecutor Carey thanked a number of law enforcement officers who helped with the intensive and on-going investigation that led to the filing of the murder complaint.
“There have been many dedicated individuals who have worked tirelessly and diligently to solve this brutal crime,” Acting Prosecutor Carey said. “I hope that the family and friends of William McCaw have at least some sense of relief knowing that the murderer has been charged and is behind bars.
“I would like to thank the dedicated law enforcement officers of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Union County Prosecutor’s Office, the New Brunswick Police Department, the Rutgers Police Department, and the Woodbridge Police Department for their efforts,” Acting Prosecutor Carey said.

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Puskas are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
