Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Chief William Volkert, of the Old Bridge Police Department announce today that authorities are actively searching for the driver of a Range Rover that fled after striking and killing a 26 year old pedestrian who was walking to the WaWa on Route 34 in Old Bridge.

 

Investigators have determined that the Range Rover was traveling Northbound of Route 34 when it struck Warren Wilmot, on July 29, 2012, at 1:15 a.m. as he was walking on the shoulder of Route 34.

 

Warren Wilmot, was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on July 29, 2012, at 4:22 a.m.

 

An autopsy performed by the Middlesex County Medical Examinerís Office determined that Mr. Wilmot died from multiple blunt force injuries.

 

Officer John Bulin of the Old Bridge Police Department and Investigator Scott Crocco of the Middlesex County Prosecutorís Office determined that the driver of the Range Rover was traveling North on route 34 when the vehicle left the roadway striking the victim who was walking on the shoulder.

 

††††††††† Mr. Wilmot was alone when he was struck by the Range Rover. Investigators believe the vehicle sustained damage to the front end passenger side.
