Labor Day Weekend Concert
AUG. 20, 2012 -- The Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders is proud to present the 7th Annual Labor Day Weekend Concert. The event will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2 at the Stephen J. Capestro Theater on Pine Drive in Roosevelt Park in Edison. The gates will open at 3 p.m.
“We are pleased to present this annual event,” said Freeholder Stephen J. “Pete” Dalina, chair of the County’s Infrastructure Management Committee, which oversees the Parks and Recreation Office. “This concert is always an entertaining show that is fun for the whole family. It is certainly one of my favorite events of the year!”
Come to Roosevelt Park for an evening of unforgettable, high energy entertainment featuring The Hit Men – which includes original members of Tommy James and the Shondells and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The Hit Men will perform for the first time ever on our stage!
Then, hold onto your hats for an incredible performance by The Happenings, who exploded onto the national music charts with their first release “See You In September.” This show will feature Bob Miranda, the voice that helped rocket the group to international stardom with such hits as “Go Away Little Girl,” “I Got Rhythm” and many more.
Middlesex County Freeholder Director Christopher D. Rafano said: “Middlesex County is very proud of beautiful Roosevelt Park. It is the perfect setting to enjoy live music. On behalf of the Freeholder Board I encourage all residents to join us for this wonderful free event.”
The concert is free and open to the public. Concertgoers must bring their own lawn chairs. If necessary, a rain date will be announced.
