PARK, FACILITIES AND UNDERGROUND STORAGE SECTION

The Park, Facilities and Underground Storage Section is the most diverse section of the County Engineer’s Office. Anything that does not fall to the other sections falls to this section. Therefore they have to deal with a wide variety of projects. The Section has completed a program to remove or upgrade 117 underground fuel storage tanks owned by the County. We are one of the few Counties that are in complete compliance with State regulations.

In order to bring building projects quickly to fruition, we have developed a variation of design/build. We do 80% of the design in-house and require the successful bidder to do the final 20% of the design. We do the floor plan, the site plan, and we select materials both interior and exterior. We specify the type of heating and cooling required and we determine all the finishes both inside and out. With this type of design we can rapidly bring a project to completion.
